Dedication poems Urania Propitia (1650) and Selenographia (1647) – a comparative analysis
Abstract
The article presents poetry dedicated to Maria Cunitia in her work Urania Propitia (1650) in combination with a similar collection of poems from the work Selenographia (1647) by Jan Heweliusz. The aim of the article is to show how conventional poetry reflected the different circumstances of the creation of both works and the situations of their authors. The appendix to the article contains the translation of introductory poems to the work of Maria Cunitia.
