Ludwik Abramowicz’s collection of article clippings on the Białowieża Forest at the Wróblewski Library of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences

Abstrakt

A collection of article clippings about the Białowieża Primeval Forest from the periodicals and books published over the period from the mid-19th to the early 20th century, compiled by the Polish journalist, bibliographer and editor Ludwik Abramowicz (1879–1939), was detected at the Wroblewski Library of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences. The purpose of this article is to provide a brief description of this collection, to introduce the reader to the authors of the clipped-out articles, the periodicals in which they were published as well as to their contents, and thus to reveal the significance of this collection in the context of science history.
