Impact of Supply Chain Practices on Their Performance in an Environment of Uncertainty and Disruptions

A dynamic business environment presents a high degree of uncertainty for the evolving world. This calls for new business practices. Organisations’ supply chain management must address disruptions and uncertainties arising from globalisation. The study’s major objectives were to understand the role of supply chain practices in moderating the influence of supply chain disruptions on supply chain performance and environmental uncertainty on supply chain performance. This research is set in the context of two South Indian states, which account for 94% of India’s coir manufacturing and export. Partial least squares-based structural equation modelling was used to test the hypotheses in the work. The moderating effect of supply chain practice on the relationship between environmental uncertainty, supply chain disruptions, and supply chain performance has not been confirmed. Hence, this finding calls for adopting disruption-resilient practices in the supply chain management by organisations to stay competitive in an evolving world and an environment of uncertainty.References
