Historiography at the University of Warsaw after 1956
Abstract
The article is an attempt to present the historiography of the University of Warsaw after 1956. The text is divided into three parts. The first part is concerned with the organisation and politics that influenced the actions of the historians. The second part discusses the academic achievements of particular scientists in the given periods. The third one reflects on the main avenues of research undertaken by the historians, e.g. military history, Jewish history or the history of ideas.
