The article explores the communicative and semantic potential of rhetorical figures within the poetic discourse of Tetiana Yakovenko. Focusing on rhetorical addresses, questions, and appeals, the study analyses these syntactic units as powerful tools for psychological and aesthetic influence. It is established that rhetorical addresses in Yakovenko’s poetry function as mediators between the lyrical ‘I’ and the world, ranging from simple vocatives to complex multi-component structures. Special attention is paid to sacred addresses that enhance the text’s suggestiveness and collective addresses that implement the ‘tactic of solidarity.’ The author demonstrates that rhetorical questions serve as markers of dialogicity and psychological depth, simulating a stream of consciousness and engaging the reader in an active intellectual search. Furthermore, the analysis reveals that rhetorical appeals, often organized through the figure of gradation, act as ethical imperatives that direct the audience toward spiritual stoicism and the preservation of national identity. The study concludes that rhetorical figures in Yakovenko’s idiolect are not merely decorative elements but ‘compressed arguments’ that verbalize the poet’s aesthetic intentions and significantly impact the addressee’s mental and emotional state.
