Code of ethics
The Bulletin of the Committee for Spatial Development of the Country of the Polish Academy of Sciences (KPZK PAN Bulletin) adheres to the principles of academic integrity, transparency, and respect for ethical standards in research and publishing. The Editorial Board, authors, and reviewers are expected to comply with the highest ethical standards applicable to scholarly and expert activity.
Ethical principles for authors
Authors are required to:
· present research results and analyses in a reliable, honest, and accurate manner,
· ensure the originality of submitted manuscripts and confirm that they are not under consideration by other journals,
· properly acknowledge and cite all sources and respect copyright regulations,
· disclose any potential conflicts of interest, particularly of a financial, institutional, or professional nature,
· indicate the contribution of individual authors in the case of multi-authored submissions.
Plagiarism, self-plagiarism, data fabrication or manipulation, and any other forms of academic misconduct are unacceptable and may result in rejection of the manuscript or retraction of the publication.
Ethical principles governing evaluation and review
The Editorial Board ensures impartiality and confidentiality throughout the evaluation and review process. Reviewers and experts involved in the assessment of submissions are obliged to:
· provide fair, objective, and substantive evaluations,
· maintain the confidentiality of the reviewed materials,
· disclose any potential conflicts of interest and withdraw from the evaluation process if such conflicts arise.
Expert reports and discussion papers (submitted as reflection papers) are subject to an expert assessment procedure appropriate to their specific character, while scholarly articles undergo a peer-review process.
Ethical principles for the Editorial Board
The Editorial Board is responsible for:
· making publication decisions based solely on the scholarly merit of submissions and their consistency with the journal’s profile,
· preventing unethical publishing practices,
· responding appropriately to allegations of breaches of publication ethics,
· publishing corrections, clarifications, or retracting articles when ethical violations are identified.
The KPZK PAN Bulletin follows established good publishing practices and adheres to the recommendations of international organisations concerned with publication ethics.
