Lākin(na) et bal : portrait de deux particules « rectificatives » de l’arabe classique

Cet article se décompose en trois parties. La première présente la description syntaxique et sémantique des particules lākin(na) et bal de l’arabe classique faites par le grammairien Raḍī l-dīn al-Astarābāḏī (m. après 688/1289) dans le Šarḥ al-Kāfiya. La seconde confronte cette description avec celle faite par le linguiste français Oswald Ducrot (1930–2024) et ses disciples des deux mais du français qu’ils appellent PA et SN, par référence, le premier, à l’espagnol pero et à l’allemand aber et, le second, à l’espagnol sino et à l’allemand aber. La troisième partie montre que la négation et son statut sont au centre de la problématique de lākin(na) et bal, comme elles sont au centre de celle du mais français.
