About the Journal
Kwartalnik Neofilologiczny is a peer-reviewed academic journal published since 1954. It is the oldest journal representing Polish modern philology in the international scholarly community, with particular emphasis on Polish English studies, German studies, Romance studies, and Italian studies.
The journal publishes exclusively original research articles written in English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Serbo-Croatian, Ukrainian, and Polish, presenting the most recent scholarly achievements of their authors. Since 1975, the journal has been continuously edited by its Editor-in-Chief, Prof. Dr hab. Dr h.c. mult. Franciszek Grucza.
Kwartalnik Neofilologiczny is characterised by the diversity of topics it addresses in the fields of literary and cultural studies, as well as issues related to linguistics, glottodidactics, and translation studies. Owing to its broad range of academic disciplines, Kwartalnik Neofilologiczny is addressed to linguists and philologists from academic circles worldwide, as well as to students and doctoral candidates in the humanities.
The mission of the journal is to disseminate research and the latest scholarly achievements of the authors whose works are published, to promote them nationally, and above all within the international academic community. In addition to research articles, the journal also publishes reviews of books and other scholarly publications. The journal also publishes occasional texts devoted to commemorating distinguished Polish and international scholars or significant achievements in the broadly understood fields of linguistics and modern philology.
