La synonymie en question: du lexique au discours

Résumé

The purpose of the present article is to discuss, through adjectival uses, a number of difficulties that affect the description of synonymy relation. The paper reviews various approaches to synonymy by examining a number of fundamental concepts. The article offers a theoretical and applicative dimension devoted to the field of adjectives. The elements of the co-texte are the factor which takes part in the emergence of the meaning – therefore they are involved in the synonymic process. The contextual approach adopted to describe synonymous units can overcome the shortcomings of classical dictionaries of synonyms.
