Aims and Scope
Rocznik Historii Sztuki publishes original scholarly articles devoted to the broadly understood history of art and architecture, the history of art theory and criticism, issues broadly defined in aesthetics, and the history of art history as a humanities discipline. In addition, „Rocznik Historii Sztuki” aims to bring to light (in the section “Laudator temporis acti”) significant, classic texts in the areas of art theory, aesthetics and methodology of art history from the 18th and 19th centuries, which have not been yet translated into Polish and often represent an important voice in the discussion regarding the status of art history as an academic discipline. Besides „Rocznik Historii Sztuki” publishes reviews of important books and art exhibitions
The journal aims to advance research on art and architecture, present new findings and research methods, foster scholarly debate, fostering historical and artistic awareness and care for the artistic legacy as well as promote knowledge of art in Poland and abroad.
The journal is intended for researchers in the fields of art history, architecture, aesthetics, and cultural studies, as well as museum and cultural heritage professionals, doctoral students, and other scholars conducting research on art and architecture.
