About the Journal

“Studia Nauk Teologicznych” (Studies in Theological Sciences) is an annual journal published by the Committee on Theological Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The journal has been published since 2006 and includes articles on theological topics, as well as studies addressing those aspects of other fields of knowledge that are relevant or helpful to theology.

The electronic version is the primary version of the journal.

The journal does not rely on advertising, and the publication of articles is free of charge.

In the 2023 evaluation of academic journals conducted by the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Studia Nauk Teologicznych received 70 points.

The full content of all articles published in Studia Nauk Teologicznych is freely available online to all readers, without any access fees or technical restrictions.

The journal adheres to a full Open Access policy.

The purpose of “Studia Nauk Teologicznych” (Studies in Theological Sciences) is to present theological and theology-related reflection, taking into account both ecumenical and international perspectives.

The Editorial Board ensures that each issue contains approximately 30% of articles in English or other congress languages (German, Italian, or French), written by authors with foreign affiliations.

Given that the Committee on Theological Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences represents university theological communities in Poland, Studies in Theological Sciences serves as a nationwide platform for the exchange of ideas and mutual inspiration in the field of theological research.

The scope of the journal includes theology (including biblical studies), Catholic social teaching, canon law, Church history, as well as other fields of knowledge — such as philosophy or religious studies — provided that the presented content is relevant to theological reflection.

Each issue contains scholarly articles devoted to a Leading Topic, which is announced on the journal’s website one year in advance, as well as articles on other theological subjects (Varia).

Each issue may also include reports on significant theological events (Reports) and reviews of recent theological publications (Reviews).
