Publication Ethics

The Editorial Board of Rocznik Historii Sztuki makes every effort to ensure that its publishing procedures comply with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Responsibilities of the Editorial Board

Decisions concerning the acceptance or rejection of submitted manuscripts are made solely on the basis of their scholarly merit, originality, reliability, and relevance to the scope of the journal. The final decision regarding publication rests with the Editorial Board.

Editors are required to maintain confidentiality with respect to submitted manuscripts, their authors, and potential reviewers. Information obtained during the editorial process may not be used for purposes unrelated to the publication process.

Where appropriate, the Editorial Board may seek advice from the journal’s Scientific Council, which serves in an advisory capacity.

Responsibilities of Authors

Authors are required to submit only original manuscripts prepared independently and not previously published. A manuscript may not be under consideration by another journal at the same time.

If a submitted article has previously been considered by another journal, the author should inform the Editorial Board of Rocznik Historii Sztuki.

All sources, publications, and materials used in the article must be properly acknowledged and cited. Authors are required to comply with copyright law and to obtain the necessary permissions for the use of copyrighted materials. Any costs associated with obtaining copyright or licensing permissions shall be borne by the authors.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers are required to provide a reliable, objective, and timely assessment of the manuscript, in accordance with their scholarly knowledge and expertise. Comments included in the review should be expressed in a constructive manner and properly substantiated.

Reviewers are required to maintain confidentiality and may not use information obtained during the review process for personal or professional purposes unrelated to the assessment of the manuscript.

Plagiarism and Research Integrity

Plagiarism, self-plagiarism, unauthorised use of third-party content, and other forms of research misconduct are unacceptable and constitute a breach of publication ethics.

Submitted manuscripts may be checked for originality by the Editorial Board, reviewers, or experts appointed by the Editorial Board. Where a breach of research integrity is suspected, the Editorial Board may request an explanation from the author, require appropriate revisions, or decide to reject the manuscript.

Conflicts of Interest

Authors, reviewers, and editors are required to disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest that could affect the conduct or impartiality of the publication process.

Reuse of Published Content

An author who intends to reuse a text originally published in Rocznik Historii Sztuki should contact the Editorial Board and comply with the terms of the licence under which the publication was made available.
