About the Journal
The Bulletin of the Committee for Spatial Development of the Country of the Polish Academy of Sciences (KPZK PAN Bulletin) is the oldest publication series of the Committee, published continuously since 1960. Between 1960 and 2020, a total of 277 regular issues, 7 confidential issues (Series A), and one special issue were published. Since its inception, the KPZK PAN Bulletin has served as a journal publishing expert reports, discussions, and scholarly articles devoted to the analysis of current issues in spatial planning and development as well as regional studies. Each volume of the Bulletin is dedicated to a distinct thematic issue and is titled to reflect the subject matter of the contributions it contains. The Bulletin has also published distinguished monographs based on doctoral dissertations and the results of research projects. In the period 2013–2020, the Bulletin operated in the format of a standard academic journal, publishing exclusively scholarly articles. However, the earlier tradition was maintained whereby each issue was devoted to a clearly defined leading theme. From 2025 onwards, the Bulletin has returned to a format that includes expert reports and discussions (in the form of reflection papers), alongside scholarly articles offering in-depth reflection and critical discussion of current issues in spatial planning and development and regional studies. These contributions address both practical challenges and their implications for the future directions of spatial and regional policy. In addition, the Bulletin publishes official positions and appeals of the KPZK PAN, as well as reports on the Committee’s activities.
